Light + Intelligent Building Istanbul, the most comprehensive meeting point for the lighting and smart building technology sector in the Eurasia region, is getting ready to open its doors at the Istanbul Congress Center on November 26-28, 2026. Organized for the second time this year by Messe Frankfurt in partnership with the Lighting Equipment Manufacturers Association (AGID), the exhibition redefines the industry's vision while gathering innovative technologies, global collaborations, and inspiring design concepts under one roof on an international platform. Drawing its strength from prominent national and international institutions, the event continues to receive support from LightingEurope and the Chamber of Interior Architects of Türkiye, just as it did in its inaugural exhibition in 2024, once again highlighting the exhibition's global reputation and its significance in architectural design.
A Strong Start, Growing Goals
Achieving success beyond expectations in 2024, the exhibition hosted 110 exhibiting companies from 7 countries and brought together a total of 6,652 professionals from 61 different countries, including 1,376 international visitors. Built upon this strong foundation, the 2026 exhibition is preparing to embrace the industry with even greater goals.
Meeting All Industry Needs Under One Roof with Comprehensive Product Groups
Throughout the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to examine the most innovative solutions in lighting and building technologies firsthand. The wide range offered by the fair includes technical lighting solutions covering indoor, outdoor, urban/street, and components, alongside aesthetics-focused decorative lighting designs. Furthermore, home and building automation systems, as well as the latest technologies in electrical engineering, constitute the main focal points of the exhibition.
Meeting Point of the Global Industry: 50+ Countries and a Strong Visitor Profile
With only weeks left until the show, the event is making a resounding impact in the international arena. Industry professionals from over 50 countries, primarily from Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, have already set their sights on Istanbul. Going far beyond being merely a technology exhibition, Light + Intelligent Building Istanbul will host a highly qualified and extensive visitor profile consisting of architects, interior architects, lighting designers, engineers, contractors, urban planners, and public institution representatives. Prepared in cooperation with the Lighting Equipment Manufacturers Association (AGID) and drawing attention with its expanded Chinese pavilion this year, the event will open brand new windows of opportunity in the global supply chain for international exhibitors and visitors.
Lighting 360°: Holistic Lighting Design Summit Hosts Industry Leaders
One of the ambitious and visionary segments of the event is the "Lighting 360°: Holistic Lighting Design Summit," organized in collaboration with the Turkish National Committee on Illumination (ATMK) in the Trend Talk area. The two-day summit will kick off with an eye-opening presentation titled "The Future of Light: New Needs and Opportunities in the Lighting Industry" by Sıla Eğridere from Frost & Sullivan.
On the first day of the summit, November 26, the session "Transformation and Future Vision in Urban Road Lighting," chaired by ATMK Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Sermin Onaygil, will comprehensively cover LED transformation projects, adaptive lighting standards, and field controls with the participation of executives from TEDAŞ, ELDER, and AGID. Immediately following, the "From Production to Field: Smart Luminaire, Smart Facility" panel will feature senior representatives from institutions such as SIGNIFY, TSE, AKBANK, and ELEKON discussing the impact of European regulations (Ecodesign, EPREL) on product design, as well as Industry 4.0 and IoT integrations.
During the "Digitalization, Design, and Application in Architectural Lighting Design" session to be held on Friday, November 27, current developments in BIM technologies and the future of integrated design will be discussed with experts from Lab1, ITU, and ATMK. In the "City's Night Image" panel, which will take place towards the closing of the summit, critical issues such as energy efficiency in urban lighting, light pollution, and Istanbul's nocturnal identity will be deeply analyzed with the contributions of representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).
